Breakbot Dj Set

This set was recorded when Breakbot opened for Chromeo in Toronto during November of last year.

He also announced yesterday on Twitter that he's finished his album.

This is frankly the best news of 2012 so far.

How did they know?

It was my birthday yesterday and due to the colossal quantities of snow we've received down here on the south coast, i got a total of three things to open in the post, as the post man, understandably, chickened out of wading through loads of snow.

LUCKILY two of my favourite electronic artists of the moment, representing two of my favourite labels, decided to release a free track each on the anniversary of my birth.

So here's Breakbot's remix of "You Put a Smell On Me" by Matthew Dear

and Jackson's remix of "Keep Up" by Treasure Fingers. This track is perhaps not the type of thing i'd usually post but i'm not gonna pretend there's a part of me that doesn't really enjoy it.

Remix O'clock

Throughout the musical world, remixes certainly have their haters, but they also have their fans. I for one am the latter and encourage you to embrace them with all your heart. After all, everything is a remix.

In an attempt to support my words, here's a couple of remixes I'm currently all over. First of all, Breakbot, a man who perfectly fits the saying 'everything you touch turns to gold'. In fact he could probably take The Script and remix it into something amazing. Sadly though this isn't the case, he has instead, put his stamp on 'Without Lies' from Aeroplanes debut album 'We Can't Fly'. Not a lot needs to be said about this, except to expect the the usual greatness.
