Gil Scott-Heron has died at the age of 62.
Gil encompassed the very best of soul, blues, funk and spoken word into his music.
He was hailed as the 'Godfather of Rap' although he preferred his own terminology 'bluesology' (A fusion of poetry, blues, soul and jazz)
His music was acutely socially aware and politicized, exemplified by his game changing "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised'.
Cited by many rappers as a huge source of inspiration, Gil's legacy will be celebrated forever.
